Crescendo Strain

If Crescendo strain is on your search list, then this article is perfect for you. I have taken my time to discuss things like the strain’s potency, aesthetic appeal, genetic mapping, etc. So, stick around to find out more about this strain.

Overview Of Strain Of The Crescendo Strain

Overview of Strain of The Crescendo Strain

The cannabis market is currently saturated with hybrid strains. Everywhere I look, I see a new strain with unique properties and an equally unique name. And this is how I stumbled upon the iconic Crescendo Strain.

The iconic Ethos Genetics first bred the Crescendo strain. From there, the strain grew in popularity and is now one of the best sativa-dominant strains in existence. As per resources, the strain contains 25% to 30% THC. As a result, it is worthy to be titled as one of the most potent strains in existence.

White ‘reviewing’ the strain, I realized that it is one of the most unique strains I have come across. In fact, this strain can easily replace the Horchata strain as my favorite strain.

Genetic Mapping Of The Crescendo Strain

Understanding a strain requires understanding its genetic makeup. I mean, how else would you justify or make sense of the characteriustcs? Keeping this in mind, I have made sure to break down all the important factors that you need to understand in order to make sense of the Crescendo Strain phenomena.

The Crescendo strain is a three-way hybrid between three very popular strains. These strains include Chemdawg, I-95, and Mandarin Cookies. Understanding these strains individually will help you make sense of the characteristics of the Crescendo strain.

Chemdawg

Chemdawg or Chemdog is the first parent strain I want you to look at. This strain was first bred in the 90’s by a breeder of the same name. Since then, Chemdawg has gone on to become one of the most revered and famous strains of all time.

Chemdog is a cross between OG Kush and Sour Diesel. As a result, it boasts a sharp, pungent, and diesel-like aroma. This sets this strain apart from most other strains in existence. Chemdog is known to alleviate pain, stress, anxiety, etc. As a result, it has grown quite popular as a go-to choice for medical cannabis users.

I-95

The second parent strain on our list is the unique and underrated I-95 strain. This strain is a product of an amalgamation between three equally iconic strains, Triangle Kush, Legend OG, and Stardawg strain. The breeder behind this underrated strain is Money Mike Of the Top Dawg Genetics.

This strain is known to produce a thick and heavy smoke that is enough to make anybody go crazy. The strain is known to produce some really potent effects and exciting memories. I personally think that this strain needs to deserve more for its contribution to the cannabis community. The terpene profile of the strain makes it one of the most flavorful strains that skunk lovers would enjoy.

Mandarin Cookies

The final Parent strain that I would like to cover is the Mandarin Cookies. Mandarin Cookies or Mandarin Mints is a unique strain that blends sativa properties with indica properties. This makes Mandarin Cookies one of the finest strains to consume when you want to experience the best of both worlds.

Mandarin Cookies is a product of crossing Forum Cut cookies and Mandarin Sunset. The Mandarin Cookies strain was first grown by the Ethos grow house in Colorado. From there, the strain traveled all across the world and has become one of the most iconic strains of all time.  A truly unique strain to check out at least once. In fact, I urge you to try out more unique strains from the Ethos grow house.

Characteristics Of The Crescendo Strain

Characteristics Of The Crescendo Strain

With the genetic mapping out of the way, it is time that you and I delve a little deeper in order to understand what sets this strain apart from most other cannabis strains. As a result, I will break down the primary characteristics into three distinct categories. These categories will cover aspects like the terpene profile, flavor/aroma, and appearance. This will help you familiarize yourself with the strain slowly and effectively.

Terpenes

Before we start analyzing the flavor and aroma of the strain, we need to learn a little bit about the dominant terpenes that can be found in this strain. Terpenes decide several factors regarding a strain. Hence, understanding these terpenes will help you paint a clearer picture of the strain. Here are three of the most common terpenes that can be found in this strain.

Myrcene: Myrcene is the most common terpene that can be found in the cannabis class of plants. This strain is known to provide a pungent odor and a musky aroma with sweet undertones.

Limonene: The name of the terpene is enough to understand its flavoring. This terpene is primarily found in sweet and citrusy fruits. It is known to produce analgesic effects and induce hunger as well.

Caryophyllene: the final terpene in question is the Caryophyllene. This terpene has a woody, spicy, and burnt flavor profile. Some users claim that this terpene has properties that add to the psychoactive properties of the strain. In fact, it is the most abundant terpene found in the strain.

Flavor & Aroma

The flavor profile of a strain is very important. It adds to the overall charm of it. I personally felt that the strain has a unique flavor and aroma profile. Also, I think the strain has a flavor profile that can even rival some of the most popular strains like Mendo breath, Slurricane, etc.

I do not like sweet-tasting cannabis. However, I think that this strain is easily one of the best-tasting strains I have come across. The aroma and the flavor of the strain exude a sweet and flowery essence. However, there is a small skunky aftertaste. This was a happy surprise for me.

On the other hand, my partner feels that the strain was a little too sweet for her taste. She thinks that the sweetness of strain could have been toned down considerably. In fact, she compared the strain to the iconic Wedding Cake strain.

Appearance

I personally enjoy a pretty-looking cannabis. I think it is important to assess a strain’s appearance in order to identify it from the lot. The strain has an iconic look to it. I think that the strain is a beautiful combination of vibrant hues. The primary hues of the strain include green, purple, and orange. In fact, I personally find the strain aesthetically pleasing. The hues of the strain reminded me of the iconic Purple Haze strain.

Effects Of The Crescendo Strain

Effects Of The Crescendo Strain

Crescendo Strain might be a pretty-looking strain, but it certainly packs a punch. In fact, the strain is easily one of the most potent strains in existence. I usually enjoy my cannabis ‘reviewing’ sessions with my partner. This helps me get an objective look into the strain that I am ‘reviewing.’

Both of us can confirm that the strain is a fast-acting strain. In my experience, the onset of effects started after 10 minutes of taking the first swig. Subsequently, the whole experience lasted for around an hour or so. Therefore, the strain does not have long-lasting effects. This is a double-edged sword. I personally prefer strains with longer retention periods. However, a short retention period makes the strain more versatile and less intimidating.

The strain is best suited as an upper. I felt more social and active after consuming the strain. Therefore, you cannot use it at night and expect sedative qualities.

Side-Effects

The Crescendo Strain has one of the best highs I have experienced. Still, 30% THC is no joke. Going by its sheer potency, there must be some side effects. Here are some of the potential side effects of the strain:

  • Green Out
  • Extreme Paranoia
  • Loss of motor function
  • Loss of orientation

Alternatives To Crescendo Strain

Alternatives To Crescendo Strain

The Crescendo strain might be one of the most popular strains in existence. I personally believe that the Crescendo Strain is one of the most underrated strains in existence. As a result, finding it can be a tad bit difficult for most people.

However, do not worry. I am here, and I have curated a small list of some of the hybrid strains that have the potential to replace the cannabis of the day, the Crescendo strain. So read along to learn some more strains that can replace the iconic Crescendo strains or strains that you can try if you enjoy the strain. Here we Go!

Girl Scout Cookies

One of the alternatives to the Crescendo Strain is the MVP sativa dominant strain called Girl Scout Cookies. Still, this is one of the best strains that you can go for if you have trouble sleeping. Do not get me wrong, this strain will not work as a sleep-inducing component. In fact, the strain will help you de-stress and calm down. As a result, people who are struggling to sleep will have it easy with this strain.

Girl Scout Cookies is known for its high. However, it is more famous for its flavor. The strain has a unique herbal aftertaste. I personally find this strain a little minty, like the Animal Mints. In fact, it is the only non-skunky strain that I enjoy consuming.

Gorilla Glue

The next strain that can work as an alternative to the Crescendo Strain is the winner of the Los Angeles and Michigan Cannabis Cup, Gorilla Glue. The strain is known for its high potency or THC content. As per cannabis research, the strain boasts a THC content of around 25%.

I personally think that Gorilla Glue can be a little too much to handle at times. As a result, inexperienced users should steer clear of this strain. Otherwise, this should be perfect for anybody who knows about cannabis moderation or has a high tolerance. Furthermore, growers claim that this strain is one of the easiest to grow. Hence, growers love this strain as well.

Sour Diesel

The next strain on our list is the super-iconic Sour-Diesel Strain.  This strain is known for its amazing flavor profile. The best part about Sour Diesel is that it already exists in the genetic tree of the Crescendo Strain. This strain mostly comes with 20% THC. However, some phenotypes might even boast 25% THC.

As a grower, you might not love the strain. This is because it strikes a balance between easy and difficult growing. However, Sour Diesel is a highly rewarding strain to grow. Growers claim that the strain yields 33% more than most other strains. As a result, this is popular amongst intermediary growers.

Maui Wowie

The next strain on our list is the iconic Maui Wowie. This is the only 100% sativa strain on our list. Since it is 100% sativa, it is known to produce some unique effects on the human psyche. People often claim this strain has some potent mood-altering capabilities that most other strains lack.

The Maui Wowie strain boasts around 28% THC. As a result, you need to be very careful around it. I personally find this strain to be perfect as a pre-party strain. In other words, the sativa side of the strain really makes it one of the most sociable strains in existence. It would help you strike up a conversation and keep it going.

Ice Cream Cake

The Ice cream cake strain is for anybody who has a sweet tooth. The Ice Cream Cake is a great Indica-dominant strain that manages to captivate the sweetness of a vanilla ice cream. The aroma and flavor profile of the strain is reminiscent of your favorite Ice cream.

Apart from its amazing flavor profile, the Ice cream cake strain is also one of the most potent strains in existence. This is primarily because of its genetic lineage. The genetic lineage of the strain contains Wedding Cake and Gelato #33. Some of the most popular after-effects of this strain include relaxation, de-stressing, sedation, mood alteration, etc. Therefore, it has one of the most potent futures as a medical cannabis strain.

That Is A Wrap!

With that, you have reached the end of my review of the iconic Crescendo Strain. A unique strain that packs a huge punch in a sweety garb. So, what are you waiting for?
