King Louis strain

The King Louis strain is one of the most important strains in existence. In fact, it has the potential to even go against some of the most iconic strains in existence. But is it even worth the hype? Or is it a glorified dud? Well, you will not know unless you keep reading.

Overview Of The Strain

Overview Of The Strain

Finding the right indica strain is such a hassle. Am I right? There are so many things that you need to look out for in order to find that one good strain. Just think about the hassle that you have to go through in order to find the right strain for you.

However, you can rejoice as I did all the leg work for you. Today, I will tell you about my current Indica-dominant strain. It is called the King Louis strain, and it is royal in all senses of the word.

According to users, the strain demonstrates a beautiful aroma and a high THC profile ranging from 20% THC to a whopping 28% THC. Therefore, the potency of the strain is no joke, and maybe that is why the strain is seen as one of the finest strains of recent times.

Genetic Mapping

Genetic Mapping

The King Louis strain is a hybrid strain with some iconic characteristics. As a result, it is our mortal duty to look at its parent strains in order to understand what makes this strain special.

The King Louis strain is a product of crossing two iconic LA-based strains named OG Kush and LA Confidential.

Both the parent strains have established themselves as two of the finest strains of all time. Hence, it is natural that the strain of the day, King Louis strain, has the potential to become one of the best and most sought-after strains of all time.

Here is a detailed rundown of some of the characteristics of both the parent strains.

OG Kush

There is a reason why OG Kush was given the title of OG. It is easily one of the finest strains in human history. I can fight you if you disagree.

The strain is popular for several things. However, its potency is what takes the cake every time. As per sources, the OG Kush can boast THC content as high as 30%. Therefore, it is understandable where King Louis got its high potency from.

Subsequently, this strain is known for its iconic flavor as well. Apparently, the strain has a strong, lemony, yet earthy flavor to it. However, I picked up traces of old-school skunk and chemical feelings of the Chemdawg strain. Therefore, it has a unique flavor profile that is a departure from most other strains I have tried.

LA Confidential

The next parent strain of the King Louis strain is the iconic LA Confidential strain. It is probably the heaviest Indica-dominant strain in human existence. Apparently, the strain is 95% Indica and 5% Sativa. So, couch lock is real with this strain.

Apart from its high levels of Indica characteristics, the strain is also known for its amazing potency. As per online cannabis journals, the strain contains 17% THC along with 1% CBG. Even though the THC breakup does not sound too strong, trust me when I say this: do not underestimate the Confidential OG.

The aroma profile of the strain is quite unique. The aroma profile of the strain includes a blend of spicy, skunky, and pine cone-ish notes. I personally feel that the Confidential strain is definitely one of the best strains I have come across. It is a weed strain that smells like a weed strain and not like the insides of a candy shop.

Characteristics

Characteristics

A strain is as good as its characteristics. No matter how much we try, we cannot really understand a strain unless we look at it from an objective standpoint and assess all the characteristics that make up the strain. This will help us have a clear idea about what to expect. But first, let us look at some of the most important terpenes that can be found in the strain because the aroma and the flavors of the strain are greatly dependent on these terpenes. Here we go!

  • Caryophyllene
  • Limonene
  • Myrcene

Aroma

I personally feel that the King Louis strain has a mild and somewhat pleasant aroma that combines hints of sweet, fruity, and earthy aroma. That might sound like a vague statement, so let me elaborate on it a little. As soon as you open your bag of cannabis, you will be treated to an amazing aroma profile that will transport you to pine forests.

Even though the strain has a sweet aroma, I felt that a sense of sourness generally takes over. This could be because of drying out. But the general aroma is equivalent to that of a pine forest after heavy rain.

Meanwhile, one of my friends claims that the strain has notes of skunk and sourness, like the Sour Diesel strain. Therefore, the aroma profile of the strain is a blend of several things at the same time.

Flavor

The aroma and the flavor of the strain are not too different from each other. The strain has a beautiful organic flavor profile that is devoid of any chemical flavoring. The musk of the strain feels natural and organic.

During my ‘review’ session with the strain, I noticed that there were hints of musk and lemon. This was uncannily similar to the equally iconic Lemon Cherry Gelato Strain. However, the experience stays the same up to a certain point, and then it goes its own way.

After the initial swig, the strain started feeling a little more fruity. This is because of the presence of limonene and myrcene. Therefore, the strain is definitely one of the finest strains when it comes to the flavor profile.

Appearance

While appearance does not really matter to us cannabis connoisseurs, as a reviewer, I need to talk about it a little. You can skip this part if you feel like it. The King Louis strain is definitely one of the best-looking strains. The buds of the strain are quite chunky and are covered with a sticky layer of trichomes. The strain also boasts fine orange hairs called the pistils. The general hues of the strain include muted orange and muted green. Therefore, the strain has a minimalistic aesthetic going on for it.

Effects & Usages Of The King Louis Strain

Effects & Usages Of The King Louis Strain

With the boring things out of the way, it is time that we get into the groovy aspects of the King Louis strain. I mean, what is a weed that does not get you high? What purpose does it serve? So, understanding the effects of the strain is seminal for understanding the King Louis strain itself.

After extensively ‘reviewing’ the King Louis strain, I have created my own list of things that you will experience while consuming this strain. One of the first things that you need to understand is that King Louis is an Indica-dominant strain. Therefore, do not consume it before any sort of event.

I personally feel that the strain is perfect for lazing around. Around 20 minutes after the consumption, my body went into the ultimate state of relaxation and nirvana. I personally felt that the strain has the capability to induce extreme levels of couch-locking syndrome.

Furthermore, I felt the strain made my throat parched. As a result, I was drinking more water than usual. In fact, the strain also made me hungrier than usual. As a result, I ate a full bowl of japchae in one go.

I would call the effects of the strain textbook indica effects. Therefore, be very careful about the time that you choose to consume the strain. This is not the strain that you should wake and bake unless it is a Sunday.

Recreational Usage

Keeping in mind the general effects of the King Louis strain, I have created a small rundown of how the strain can be used. The first form of usage on my list is obviously going to be recreational usage.

This strain is very popular among recreational users who are seeking to calm down and feel a buzz in their heads. I think recreational users can use this strain while lazing around on the weekends and watching Netflix.

However, this strain is not a party strain. In fact, using this strain before a party can make you extremely lethargic. The idea of going out will make you feel tired. However, it is a perfect strain to consume before going to bed.

Medical Usage

Given the overall potency and the nature of the strain, I can safely say that the strain has some really potent medical benefits. The King Louis strain is an Indica-dominant strain. Hence, it is very apparent that the strain has potent sedative and analgesic qualities.

Patients with insomnia, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia, and anorexia might find respite using this strain. However, I am not a doctor. So, consult a medical professional before you start treating yourself with the strain.

Side Effects

I personally love the King Louis strain and cannot stop ‘reviewing’ it. But that does not mean that I am blind to its pitfalls. While researching the strain, I came across some of its most reported side effects. These include:

  • Paranoia
  • Loss of identity
  • Temporary amnesia
  • Extreme lethargy
  • Dry eyes and mouth
  • Greening out or cannabis overdosing.

How To Grow King Louis Strain

How To Grow King Louis Strain

We have mostly covered all the important aspects of this strain except for one. Growing a cannabis strain is something most pot connoisseurs have wanted at least once in their lifetime. The idea of growing your own weed is an alluring idea to ponder on.

Growing the iconic King Louis strain is very rewarding. Regardless of your prowess with growing your own cannabis, you will easily handle this strain with ease. Growers have claimed that the strain is of a rewarding nature. It does not take up too much space, but it certainly gives out a rewarding crop.

Moreover, the structural integrity of the strain is so convenient that it can be grown indoors as well as outdoors. However, you need to remember that the strain prefers hotter and more humid conditions to thrive.

Beginner growers can rejoice as this strain is not very difficult to cultivate and harvest. But intermediary growers can definitely get more out of the strain with techniques like SCROG, LST, etc.

Indoor Growing

While growing the King Louis indoors, you need to understand that this strain is a humidity-loving strain. However, try not to go overboard in any way whatsoever. As per growers, the strain demands 50% to 60% humidity. Exceeding this limit can cause mold buildup. As your plant reaches the late flowering stage, you need to reduce the humidity to 40%. Apart from humidity, you need to make sure that your growing station is properly ventilated. Failing to do so can damage the yield.

Growers claim that the strain has one of the highest yields. If you manage to tick all the growing checklists, you will have a high-yielding plant at your hand. A perfect indoor growing yield is around 500g/m². The strain takes around 8 to 9 weeks to reach the flowering stage.

Outdoor Growing

While some growers might claim that outdoor growing is better and more rewarding. I would say that outdoor growing has more uncontrollable factors that you need to know about. But if outdoor growing is what you prefer, then you need to be very careful about the location of your growing area. Select a location that is warm and sunny.

Growers claim that outdoor growing can yield up to 600g/m². This means outdoor growing has a higher yield. Still, there are several factors that one needs to consider in order to maximize this yield.

The Reviewer’s Take

With that, you have reached the very end of the review of the King Louis strain. It is one of the best Indica-dominant strains out there. In fact, I believe that this strain has the potential to become the next big thing. So, be sure to check this strain out on a Sunday. Otherwise, you will definitely have an unproductive day.
