Know Your Cannabinoids: Delta 10 THC

delta 10 thc

Want to know what is Delta 10 THC? Well, you are at the right place at the right time. Today, we will be looking at a minor cannabinoid like Delta 10 THC to see how it compares to its other, more popular counterparts. Keep reading to know more.

What Is Delta 10 THC?

What Is Delta 10 THC

Ever since research started in the 1970s, cannabis researchers have been able to discover several forms of THC known as THC isomers. Out of all those isomers, Delta 9 THC is the most common form of THC. In fact, it is the most abundantly formed natural cannabinoid in existence. Other cannabinoids like HHC, HHX, or THC-P are formed in such trace amounts that they do not qualify as naturally occurring cannabinoids.

So what is an isomer? Scientifically speaking, isomers are compounds that share identical chemical formulas, but the elements are arranged differently. This slight arrangement change of the compound adds an added layer of pharmacological properties. Sometimes, this small change can result in a whole different experience. This is why cannabis users see each of these cannabinoids or isomers of cannabinoids as whole different entities.

Discovery of this ‘new version’ of a cannabinoid called Delta 10 THC is something that happened by accident. The first people who got their hands on this isomer is the Fusion Farms organization. While extracting a batch of THC distillate, growers noticed that the solution had some crystalline structures in it. This was first seen as CBC or CBL cannabinoids. After months of research, the substance was identified to be a new isomer of Delta 9 THC. In fact, to this day, manufacturers manufacture Delta 10 THC using a similar method that led to its discovery in the first place.

Does Delta 10 Get You High?

Does Delta 10 Get You High

What do you think, chief? The Delta-10 is a substance that is quite potent and will not just get you high but will make you very f****** high. Now, this is essentially a subjective question to answer. While some users claim that the high is comparable to what Delta 8 THC and Delta 9 THC provide, some other users claim that the experience is a much watered-down experience. I personally felt that Delta 9 has one of the highest potency among all the cannabinoids.

I personally feel that Delta 10 THC provides a more cerebral high than body high. This means you will have the influence of the cannabinoids in your body, but you will not go through a complete couch-lock situation. If you look at it objectively, the Delta 10 THC high is more akin to that of a sativa high than that of an indica high.

Sativa-leaning cannabinoids or strains have a tendency to engage the cerebral high. In other words, you will feel buzzed, but you will still remain coherent and lucid. Therefore, this is one of the best qualities of this cannabinoid. Like for example, if you consume a Delta 8 gummy and a Delta 10 THC gummy, you will know that the Delta 10 is keeping you alert while the Delta 8 is putting you in a couch lock situation.

If you are wondering how long it will stay in your system, then let me tell you that the duration is the same as other cannabinoids. But if you want to know the specifics, then you will have to look at our dedicated article on this matter.

Benefits

So, it has been a while since scientists discovered Delta 10 THC. But the substance is found in trace volumes. Therefore, scientists do not have enough to conduct specified tests. Still, we do know about some of the benefits. Like for example:

  • It is easily available for purchase in most of the states across the USA.
  • Is more psychoactive than CBD
  • Delta 10 THC provides a different type of high, which sets it apart.
  • It produces a potent sativa-like effect, so it is perfect for consumption during the daytime.
  • Factories take extra care to decontaminate the substance because it is synthesized

Side Effects

Just as there are benefits to Delta 10 THC, similarly, there are some very potent side effects as well. Again, there is very little information on the cannabinoid, which is why we have compiled some anecdotal evidence to assess the drawbacks of this cannabinoid if taken without regulation. Some of the most common and plausible side effects of the cannabinoids include:

Legality

Whenever we review a new strain or cannabinoid, we tend to look at some of the most basic fundamentals of the cannabinoid. And what is more crucial than the legal aspect of this cannabinoid? That is exactly my thought.

Delta 10 THC is one of the most recently discovered cannabinoids. This is why there is not enough evidence to support the legality of the substance. As a result, the substance enjoys a murky legal status. The Delta 10 THC cannabinoid is a synthesized substance. Hence, DEA closely monitors the distribution and production of the substance. Which enhances the quality but, at the same time, makes it less available to the masses.

Since there is a huge question about the overall legality of the cannabinoid, I will suggest that you approach the substance with more caution. Looking up the local cannabis laws can certainly help you with whatever queries you have about the legality of the substance.

End Note

In the end, Delta 10 THC is a mere isomer of the popular Delta 9 THC, but with some nuanced twists. These twists or difference in the quality of the substance is something that really sets Delta 10 apart from other isomers of THC. Keep following our page for more cannabis content and stories.
