Strain Overview

Strain Overview

Our weed of honor for the day is the all-new hybrid strain known as the Gelonade weed strain or, more formally, the Gelonade strain. This strain is a product of the crossbreeding between two strains, namely the Lemon Tree and the Gelato #41. This was first bred in partnership with Connected Cannabis Co. Connected Cannabis Co. is an iconic company in the cannabis markets as they brought several iconic strains like the St. Lucia OG, True OG, and countless others. Therefore, this is a strain that has a rich origin story.

Gelonade marijuana strain is a strain with high THC content that ranges from around 22% to 26%. Therefore, this strain will throw a curveball at you if you are not careful. User reviews claimed that this strain had provided a memorable high experience that was strong but mild at the same time. This balanced high was due to its rich genetic lineage. Apart from the high THC content, this strain also boasts around 0.62-0.91% CBD and 0.56-1.06% CBG.

All these factors come together to make this strain perfect for recreational usage. In fact, this is one of the most popular strains that came out of the Connected Cannabis Co.

Is Gelonade Strain Indica Or Sativa?

Is Gelonade Strain Indica Or Sativa

As explained already, the Gelonade strain is a cross between Lemon Tree and Gelato #41. Both of the strains are essentially Indica-dominant. However, the general ratio between the indica and sativa does not vary too much. In fact, both the parent strains share the same percentile, which is 45% Sativa and 55% Indica.

As a result, the Gelonade weed shows some similarity with the parent strains. But, where it differs is that this is not an Indica-dominant strain. This is a Sativa-dominant strain that has 70% Sativa and 30% Indica. Therefore, the effects are mostly of cerebral high, something that will be discussed in more detail later on.

Characteristics

Characteristics

This strain is a unique strain that provides something to its consumers that many other strains do not. And part of that unique experience is the characteristics that make up the strain. Due to such rich characteristics, this strain is becoming more and more popular as days pass. Therefore, it is of seminal importance that we understand the characteristics of this strain in order to understand the Gelonade strain completely.

Appearance

Appearance

Visually, this is one of the prettiest nugs you will lay your eyes on. In fact, every nug is beautiful to cannabis aficionados, but this just takes the cake somehow. The nug has a vibrant pear-green hue to it, which is coupled with a purple tinge.  Also, you will notice the strain has vibrant orange and brown pistils, which feel sticky to the touch. To top off the whole thing, the nug is covered with small fine trichome crystals, which can be white or orange.

Aroma & Flavor

Aroma & Flavor

The primary terpenes that are present in the strain are Linalool, Ocimene, Caryophyllene, and Limonene. As a result, the strain has a remarkable citrusy lemon taste along with earthy notes of wood and vanilla.

The primary notes of citrusy sweetness can be felt as soon as you inhale the smoke. Therefore, perfect for somebody who has zero to none experience with premium strains. Upon exhale, the woody vanilla notes are more evident. Therefore, this is perfect for people with a sweet palate.

Usage & Effects

Usage & Effects

This is a flavorful strain that would surely captivate people with its unique terpene and flavor profile. However, it is the effects that will make you stay. So, in this section, we will look at some of the Gelonade strain effects. So that you can decide whether it is suitable for you.

The High

This is primarily a sativa strain, which means that it should affect the cerebral more than the body of its user. Thanks to its lineage and Sativa-India profile, this weed will provide a happy and uplifting high that will enable you to remain vigilant and coherent but with a slight buzz. In fact, several users who used this strain have claimed that this strain is perfect for doing creative work as it sends the user’s imagination into turbo mode. However, it does not mean that it will not make you a couch potato.

The Bad Trip

In fact, if you are not vigilant, it can knock off your socks. If you are somebody who is new to the cannabis culture, you might want to start a little slow. Going over the preferred dosage according to your BMI will not kill you or anything. But it will certainly make you wish you were dead. I am kidding! If you overshoot the dosage, you can go into a bad trip. A state where your anxiety would be heightened, and you can lose orientation or make you a couch potato. This usually subsides after 1 to 2 hours, but it can be an uncomfortable experience nonetheless. Proper hydration and food can help you combat this state.

Medical Benefits

Since this is a Sativa-dominant strain that provides an uplifting high, medical practitioners believe that this has potent medicinal properties. One such medicinal property is that the strain demonstrates a unique analgesic capability. In other words, people suffering from chronic pain can find this helpful in managing the pain. Also, sativa weeds help in focusing the mind. Hence, theoretically, the Gelonade strain can help people suffering from mental health issues like anxiety, ADHD, etc.

Growing Info

The Gelonade weed is a grape-shaped minty green bud with furry orange pistils and trichomes. The bud can be quite thick and can reach up to 30 or 60 inches during the growing stages. Cultivars claim that this is a great strain for an easy-growing experience.  Growers claim that this strain can be grown indoors as well as outdoors. However, if you are planning to go about the way of growing, I suggest that you consider growing the strain indoors.

Indoor growing experiments will yield somewhere around 1 to 2 ounces of high-quality weed. But outdoor growth situations will produce 2 to 3 ounces of cannabis per square foot. And approximately 550 grams. Still, if you are growing it indoors, the success rate improves as the elements can be controlled better.

If you want to grow cannabis and want an easy-growing strain, then strains like Stardawg, Chemdawg, Gelonate, Gary Payton, Zaza Strain, etc. can be your go-to choice of weed. All of these strains boast a moderate amount of THC that clocks at 20% and can be grown under any condition.

As per growers, the overall flowering time of the Gelonade strain oscillates between seven to nine weeks. During this, the bud will grow dense and thick. You will notice that there is a thick layer of trichomes covering the flower once the bud has matured fully. After which you need to harvest the cannabis in order to consume it.

On that note, we have come to the end of our Gelonade strain review. Gelonade is a perfect strain if you are somebody who loves sweet and fruity flavors in your weed.
