Dolato Strain Review: Here’s What You Need To Know!

dolato strain

I was lucky enough to get my hands on a completely new strain this week – one which I hadn’t heard of, let alone tried. Dolato is a cross of Dosidos and Gelato, and with both parent strains from the cookies’ family, I was eager to try this cross.

Dolato, also known as “Do-Si-Lato” and “Dosi-Lato,” is an indica marijuana strain made by crossing Do-Si-Dos with Gelato #41. Moreover, Dolato has a beautiful range of colors in its colas—from light to dark green and red-wine purple to bright orange, all dusted with diamond-like trichomes.

Dolato’s terpene profile features a fruity, earthy scent followed by a sweet lavender taste. Dolato may leave people feeling stress-free and sedated, making it perfect for a slowed-down night in, perhaps paired with a bath and a book.

Here’s our review of the strain. Stay tuned.

Exploring The Dolato Strain: Here’s What You Need To Know

So, I tried the Dolato strain. And while I am not usually a fan of consuming marijuana recreationally very often, I had high expectations from this strain. But things did not really pan out well enough to match my expectations.

Here’s all you need to know!

Appearance:

This is one of the most beautiful strains I’ve come across this year. I saw three phenotypes of this when I picked this one up, and this was the “purple pheno.” The bud is frosty with tints of green, white, and purple throughout. This dolato sample is made up of small, dense nuggets.

Smell:

I am not happy with the aroma of the Dolato strain, considering its actual appearance. While the strain smells clean, it does disappear after a long time. Also, there was this hint of a delicate and subtle sweetness, but that disappeared after a long time.

Grinding up the Dolato marijuana strain does not create much aroma. At one go, I would say there is a slight pungency, but it is different from the conventional skunky aroma.

Taste:

I smoked the Dolato strain with my wasabi-line bong, and I immediately felt how smooth the hot was – the weed is very clean, undoubtedly.

But just like the smell of the strain, the taste of the same is also lost after the hit. I almost struggled to find a distinctive taste. In spite of the strain’s lack of intensity, I cannot give it a good rating in terms of its taste.

But I can say this: when I tried the strain through a pipe, it was a clean hit, though the flavor was still missing.

Effects:

The impact of the Dolato Strain has an Indo-dominant side, and I love it. Moreover, I also experienced a slight amount of relaxation paired with some cerebral nudges. This nudge reminded me that I was high.

This is not a specifically solid strain, and it’s a strain that you can also consume during

and so one I’d think would be nice to consume during the daytime.

What’s The Internet Saying About The Dolato Strain?

Contrary to how we felt overall about the Dolato strain, people online have loved it. Chances are, it didn’t work well for us, but that doesn’t mean it won’t work well for you. So, if this strain sounds intriguing to you, then go for it!

1. Review By Flowerluvr:

Got it because of her genetics, two faves come together. Not disappointed, very happy, in fact! 👍🏻😎👍🏻Hits fast, tastes and smells out of this world. After a few hits from the bong, waves of warm, euphoric relaxation. Perfect for someone suffering from anxiety.

Like someone said, it makes me comfortable in my own skin. With it, I just chilled the f out, happy, sedated. Great fucking body high! Warm, slightly tingly, relaxed… Herbal valium. It also helps with neuropathy. This batch is super loud and gassy, and it smokes like a dream. Don’t pass her up. Under whatever name, Gelato x Dosido is a 5★ strain. 👍🏻😎👍🏻”

2. Review By Zippythepinhead:

The herbal or fruity smell is something to enjoy. The taste is lemon, and the buds are deep green with black, really strange looking in the light.

This is good for people who smoke all the time. It’s good high and will not couch lock you or make you instantly starve. It’s very chill and doesn’t cause racing thoughts. It would be excellent for gatherings to make you comfortable in your skin. Good stuff!”

3. Review By 1KingKush:

My Dosilato (AKA: Dolato) was by Connected Cannabis & contained 25% THC. Buds are hard & fern green with touches of purple velvet. The pistils are sun bright orange & the frosty trichomes cover the buds. Fruity, earthy, spicy, & pine are the smells & tastes.

The effects left me feeling stress-free in both mind & body. I got a relaxing high without the heavy sedation. Gelato 41 & Dosido give us this delight. Enjoy Your Green Privilege 🙂”

4. Review By DCBudConnoisseur:

A strain indica lovers will like, Dolato had me relaxed in mind and body, then eventually sleepy. The taste is earthy and sweet. It’s a pretty smooth smoke.

If you’ve seen my other reviews, you know I don’t love indicas that make me feel sleepy. This one did that, but if you have trouble sleeping, it will be good for you. Taste, I give it 4 out of 5, and effects, I give it 3.5 out of 5.”

Our Verdict: A Disappointing Experience

While I enjoyed the look of the Dolato more than most strains, I was disappointed with it overall, perhaps more so because I had such high expectations going in! I look forward to trying out other phenotypes to see whether I can get a better idea of the Dolato flavor.
